...Federal has a beard...I was told he is a grandpa among labs....and I swear as soon as warm weather comes...I will take him swimming...and running...and the usual neato stuff he absolutely loves...because he won't be around much longer....cats are cool but dogs rule.....

...I used to have a cat that had the same expression as Hobbes in the Calvin and Hobbes cartoons...good thing he never got into the trouble that Hobbes did...

...I'm craving good old-fashioned southern corn bread.....beans and ham...moon pies...sweet tea...red licorice...a peanut butter and banana sandwich (not sliced and not grilled...just mashed and spread on bread)...those seven layer bars my grandma used to make just for me...my grandma...horseback riding...the discounts I used to get at the vet's...caramel apples...North Carolina...a road trip...a margarita...

sooooo..I bought "Alien Vs Predator"... to all you "Star Wars" geeks...I'm an "Alien" geek...and although I liked this movie overall (the fight scenes were cool..but not enough of them), I have a couple of issues.....first off...anyone who's ever seen "Alien" enough knows that it takes longer than 20 minutes for the whole facehugger to host to full grown alien to evolve...this director had it going at about 10-20 minutes...
....one of the things I hate about movie makers is when they think we the movie goers are stupid and don't notice things...like when at one point the heroine is outside (this is in Antarctica) w/o a coat on and it doesn't seem to affect her at all....duh...
....one other thing....ya'll need to check out Norm's blog and post a comment...he's gonna start thinking I'm stalking him....

...well, here's another example of idiocy in the suburbs...Marquette Heights (I used to live there..) has a street called Gay Street...and it seems they don't like the way people "snicker" when they say the name...so they got the village idiots..(oops...I mean village board) to change it...even tho it was named after one of the guys who founded that area...geeeezzz...I don't like the way people "snicker" when they find out I'm from Pekin...home of redneck attitudes (hey...I'm proud to be a redneck) and meth labs...but I deal with it...I'm not the moron that does the stupid stuff around this town (not that I don't do stupid stuff...I just don't worry about what color someone is, nor am I mixing up a batch of my finest meds...)...it's too bad there are these assholes that can't mind their own business....besides, maybe if we had a little vigilante justice on...say...down the street where it is said a lab is currently running but for some reason not taken down...(WTF??)...could it be because we're so worried about the rights of the bad guys the good guys get shafted...
...now before someone starts telling me I'm in violation of people's rights....blah blah blah...sure I know that's to protect us...but let's be honest...sometimes it DOESN'T....I know that from experience...but, hey...if you know this guy makes drugs...if you see him selling them...
1)get several friends together...the bigger the better..
2)each one grab a weapon...ball bats are very good...someone who knows a little martial arts would be a great asset...
3)in a calm but efficient manner proceed to the neighborhood "pharmacy"...make sure you knock first...and go right in...
4)have two or three of your biggest friends "detain" the "pharmacist(s)"...
5)make sure there are no children or animals about..if so...someone should take them out of the building and straight to a place of safety...
6)destroy EVERYTHING...
7)make it very clear to the "pharmacist" that this store is closed...and he/she has been transferred...
8)transfer said peron(s) to the police station...where, in a perfect world, they gladly take over and congratulate everyone on their deeds of valor..over the next few days a lawyer that actually prosecutes people like this and wins takes this case....really does win this case...and now everyone will hear how this neighborhood..ain't taking any more crap...

THINGS THAT ANNOY ME TODAY:
...the post office...almost like being at Wal Mart...you only get one teller per 20 people...and one of them is ALWAYS in a bad mood......
...the car in the left lane of 70 mile an hour traffic that was doing 50..."gosh...who are all those people following me?"
...taxes...so tell me...if I'm not happy with someone down at city hall or wherever this Gomer works, can I hold back the amount of my taxes that goes to him? If he was a plumber that screwed up a job at my house I could, so why not this lazy-I-ain't-got-the-guts-to-do-my-job Bubba?
...people who will NOT move over into the opposite lane when someone is broken down on the side of the road...they made it a law to pull over for people of authority...it should be for EVERYONE...ain't nothin' like a big semi flyin' by at 80 when you're standing there, hoping not to get killed...
...kids that look at you as you drive by, then start to yell or make weird gestures towards you...now is it me, or is that another sign of a possible serial killer in the works...

...so much for the big snow..it was pretty...but I wanted more. I probably shouldn't complain...I'll be at work one day and go outside where it will take me a half hour to get into my truck, then another two hours to get home because of the snow...
...I've been feeling like an idiot these last few days...I ordered a digital tuner for my violin...apparently they can go out of tune for a number of reasons...too cold...slight bump against something...so I decided I'm gonna do this right. Well, I get the tuner and, as usual..toatlly screwed it up. One of the knobs on the end that tightens the string (yeah I know there's a certain name for it, but I obviously can't think of it and I'm not going to look it up) became...um...loose...almost like it was stripped...and it won't tighten. I am very lucky to have two very nice girls at the lab that both play strings and know more about this stuff than I...but I didn't want to take it with me on Monday and have them "fix" it for me, especially after helping tune it last week (oh, hell...who am I fooling...they didn't help me...they did it..I just stood there in awe)....
...btw..."it's out of tune" is a great excuse for how I sound lately.....hehehehe...

...I wonder...why do I always start my posts with these dots............?

...and btw...it's Martin Luther King, Jr. day...and even tho we tend to forget about it...it's pretty cool what he did...which makes it all the more puzzling with all the crap going on in the world today...which makes me feel good about myself...with all that's happened in my life, I'm lucky to be who I am...my mom's family is from Mississippi....part of the old south...enough said....and I'm very grateful that I never picked up on her mentality....unfortunately my sister did, and even more heartbreaking is, so did my niece....so...thank you, sir, I'm just sorry you're not around...we could use you....

...got more cds yesterday...replaced the Aerosmith "Big Ones", a Martina McBride, Trace Adkins all because of the song "Rough and Ready"...(god that voice....mmmm)...and a couple from Keith Urban of which I'm very impressed..he is GOOD...oh, yeah, btw...he's considered country...so bite me....
...I still want to buy "The Village," altho it's not as good as "the Sixth Sense" or "Signs" (my favorite)....which brings me to..when are we gonna go see another movie, Britt? Call Alex and get him to go with us....c'mon c'mon c'mon....

...carts all over the lot at Wal Mart....I swear there were more of those than cars...
...sexual innuendos on cars and trucks...a license plate that says SEX 1 or something like that...there's a truck like mine (only it's an ugly white, and, of course, mine's much cooler) I've seen around town with an obvious allusion to being in his presence...something like "erotic delights" or "exotic nights" or whatever...why doesn't he just put "I'm good, baby, come have me"...YUCK. There's a reason the quiet ones are the best.....
...I didn't check the reminder from the Discovery channel so I missed the show on Pompeii...now I have to wait til the 30th...no problem...they'll send me a reminder...
...the guy at the Chinese buffet Jerri and I went to was in a mood...his "I don't want to be here and I have no manners" mood...
...people that feel they have to take ALL the kids to the vet with them when they take the new puppy in for shots...get a sitter....plus the fact that by the way the kid was yanking on the leash...this poor dog will grow to be a Gomer of dogs...

...you may not believe this, but I'm going to take up the violin...the fiddle to be more exact. I know...I know...WTF? But my mom would never let us do much of what we wanted in that regard (actually...I've always wanted to play the drums...and I'm even considering THAT), but I found out that my great grandfather was known as a "master fiddler" way down in Mississippi...plus there are a lot of adults who are taking music lessons for the first time in their lives...so make fun all you want...sniff...I'm gonna do it!
....soooo...if you don't know what a master fiddler is...look it up...first "master"...then "fiddler"...and put 'em together....(no "master _____" jokes, either Nik!).....hmmm...am I mistaken...or did that sound...defensive?

...saw a couple of good movies this past weekend..."The Clearing" with Robert Redford (yes, he can act), Willem Dafoe, and Helen Mirren, and "King Arthur" with Clive Owen and Keira Knightly (my apologies if I spelled her name wrong)...the first one was interesting, but a bit slow. I was surprised I liked "King Arthur" as much as I did. It was told historically only...no mysticism like you hear in the legends. The soundtrack was pretty neat (Hans Zimmer...is that the correct name?), and the scenery was gorgeous...(not to mention the eye candy...wink wink...)...try 'em both....

....seems there's a new movie coming out..."White Noise"...looks very creepy...hopefully Britt can go with me when it comes out...she's fun to watch at these shows cause she gets a little....scared.....but she seems to like it....

....apparently there's a town meeting at city hall (how Stephen King-ish sounding) this next Thursday about the law they may be passing on how you won't be allowed more than four (I believe) pets...seems the mayor is an idiot, and thinks that this will prevent the other idiots that have viscious dogs...from...having viscious dogs, not to vention the the part about exotic animals. Man, it's about time...those wild geckos have been running the neighborhood in packs. But hey...we wouldn't want to arrest the idiot who allows his dangerous animal to run the neighborhood...actually....if he has made the animal mean (they are made mean...they don't come that way), THAT should be reason enough to put his sorry ass in jail...let's not forget the fact that supposedly there are dog fights in this part of town on a regular basis...but they never get caught. Now, if I understand correctly, dogs who are "trained" in dog fighting are made mean in certain ways...gunpowder in their food is one I've heard of...then there's the poor thing that's used as "target practice". How about catching these guys that are doing this and putting them in a fighting pit with the worst dog they have. I'm sure it will have to be put down, but let it get it's last bit of justice.
