...could someone please explain to me what good it does to vote in the primaries when you are asked what political party you claim to be in, wherein you are told you have to vote that party only?? Now don't start off telling me how women had to fight for the right to vote...I know that...and I think it's an important right everyone has. But I don't see how this is a fair way to vote....

elderly crabass who has nothing better to do with his time: "What's your party?"

me: "My party?"

elderly crabass: "Yeah! What party are you for?"

me: "I don't claim a party...I vote for who I want..some in both parties"

elderly crabass: "You can't do that! You have to pick a party and that's who you vote for...whoever's in that party."

me: "What?! What if I want someone who is a democrat and someone who is a republican?" (I deliberately didn't capitalize these)

elderly crabass: "That's not the way it works. You vote for the party...not the individual. If you aren't sure which then vote as an independent."

me: "But what if I want a democrat AND a republican AND an independent?"

elderly crabass:

me: "I fail to see where I am voting for someone that someone else tells me to vote for...that's not very democratic.."

...well Bradley won....something....which means ER will NOT be shown during it's regularly scheduled time on Thursday. Hey...people get the same way about the friggin' ball game...and NASCAR., so don't look at me as though I'm being whiney. That goes without saying.
