Watched a movie today that has been out a while...BLOODY SUNDAY.. What a sad people the human race has become... http://www.larkspirit.com/bloodysunday/ Saturday, December 16, 2006
I woke up this morning to an all too familiar smell. Fed seems to just lay where he's at when he feels the call of nature. I guess it's easier for him. His arthritis must be worse in the mornings or anytime after a long rest. Yet when I get out of bed he's suddenly all smiles and has an urgent need to go outside, his tail wagging the way it always has, an almost puppy-like enthusiasm about his day. He even gets a little skip in his creaky old step, and about five minutes into yard patrol he is ready to come back in. A dog that hardly ever made a sound his whole life now commences with his old man-dog bark, a high pitched, annoying squawk that it seems he never tires of. So I open the door for him, waiting as he makes his way up the steps. Of course, as usual, he's just happy to be back inside. I've noticed he seems to hover, standing to watch as I do things, as if he's going to miss something. I imagine that's because he's nearly blind, trying to see things that he used to see so clearly. Sin isn't allowed around him anymore; he's just too rough with him. One day when Sin got away from me, he barreled into Federal like a steam engine, and from the yelp I heard and the way Fed hit the ground I thought for sure he'd hurt him. I wanted to kill Sin for that, even though all he wanted was to play. Luckily Fed wasn't hurt as bad as it seemed. He will be fourteen on Valentine's day, and I honestly don't think it will be much longer than that. Some days he just looks up at me, looking tired and so frail, but he manages to stand when I talk to him. Isn't it amazing how you can love a creature so much? Saturday, December 09, 2006

..so...there was this little wintery storm yesterday....and having such a good work ethic, I decided to go to work...and after several attempts of getting out of my drive, I did it! All that snow will NOT keep me from my job...but getting stuck in the road will. After two hours of digging, along with the help of a ten year old that I paid $10 to (he never asked, just started to help me) and his grandfather, we managed to get the truck back onto my drive...barely, so the plow trucks could do their job (that's a bit of an oxymoron). Now I'm back out to finish digging so I can get back into my garage...or the store...oh, and work...I may even go in today... Then again, maybe not. Thursday, November 23, 2006
Britt started this...... ...Great cowboys on the screen...(or something like that).... Yes, I'm being sexist and shallow...but when they make a male version of Hooters, THEN you can call me sexist. Monday, November 13, 2006
I HATE Wal Mart. But I go there because things are cheap. Certainly NOT for the friendly service. By the time I got out of there this evening, I was in a terrible mood. I admit I have relatives in Mississippi, and that I am a redneck by birth, if not by choice. I am not ashamed of that...just a bit embarrassed by what some of my family has done. In my family's past, there is a ridgerunner, an attempted murderer (rumor has it), a drug dealer (both of these are women), a suicide by shotgun (rumor on this one has it that he was murdered), and various shady characters, also. I remember a cousin who used to beat the shit out of his wife, yet I also remember no one doing anything about it. She would answer the door looking all shy and a bit frightened, and he was always wearing jeans with his pot belly hanging over his belt and a beer in one hand, cigarette in the other. I have an aunt who was seeing a sherriff or deputy or something like that, and when he was finished with her, he started dating her daughter. My other cousin got his girlfriend pregnant, a beautiful girl with long brown hair, yet one of the biggest bimbos there ever was. I remember the way he would tell her what to do, even if it was to bring him a can of beer, and not in a nice way, either. She would just jump at his every word, going so far as to allow her kid's grandmother to be called "mom" while he called his own mother by her name. Oh yeah, my grandfather was asked to join the KKK, but he declined. I don't understand why. Apparently the whole family is racist...prejudiced...bigoted...call it what you want. By the way, Britt...this is for you... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEAMUS...I'd make ya a margarita, but I drank the last one... (sorry...this was the best I could do...) Friday, November 10, 2006
VETERAN'S DAY isn't just for the soldiers that have fought recently...it's for anyone who's defended their home...whether it be here or abroad. Thank you Jack and Andrew, Bob and Lewis...thank you Buffalo...thank you everyone who's ever fought for us. You don't hear it much but you are much appreciated. The 54 Massachussetts, one of the first all black regiments...the Navajo code talkers...the Native Americans at Wounded Knee and the countless battles against the migrating white men...John Brown, a bit of a radical...his heart was in the right place, he just went about it all wrong...the men and women of the Underground Railroad...the many explorers and settlers from our past.. And don't you dare forget all those that are over there now...some too young to even drink, yet carrying guns. Those that have been hurt and are disfigured for life...a huge price to pay, don't you think? Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sunday, November 05, 2006
Saddam Hussein sentenced to death for crimes against humanity. ...well....finally. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy...and I don't care if you love or hate Bush, I don't care if you are conservative or a liberal, I don't care if you are a Democrat or a Republican...it shouldn't make a difference, but everyone is using our fucked up political system to make an excuse about what is right or wrong. The man is a murderer...he taught his children how to be murderers...he killed his own people...HIS OWN PEOPLE. What if Bush decided to wipe out all the welfare recipients...over 70's...or anyone that likes the Dixie Chicks? He's a killer...a murderer...butcher...what other reason do you need to hang someone? Inhumane? Tough shit...he's a murderer...he should be put in a room with the families of his victims...a lottery where 100 get the chance...and let them take care of his punishment. Of course you have these people that bitch and moan about rights blah blah blah...tough shit...he's a murderer...he shouldn't have any rights...he took away all rights of the people he killed. Just like child killers and murderers here AND abroad. So quit your political bullshit, stop complaining that the world will be rid of one more piece of shit, and put that energy into animal rights and cancer research, the space program and conservation. |
